My other hobby

What could be better than melting all my hobbies into one... so here it is... I found Playmobil 5404, the Victorian Artist... I'm sure with a few mods I could make him look like EmGee. :)

PlayMo in the USA

I have read, in different Playmo websites and message boards about PlayMo conventions. But they have been all in Europe. Germany, France, a big one in Spain, even in Malta. I am yet to hear or read about anything in the States.
I'm not sure if there fan base in the USA is big enough to warrant such an event. I mean, I know there are some hardcore Playmobil fans state-side. But I wonder if it would be geographically possible to it to take place.
I think it would be a blast, PlayMo fans setting up their dioramas, showing their collections, people trading vintage/rare klickies!
Ahh, the possibilities!

Das Stinkt!

Oh... Why do I do this to myself?
So, I'm browsing the official Playmobil website, looking at the stuff they have available on their online store... and I think "Hmmm let me browse the German site to see what they got". Now I'm depressed! There is sooooo much more stuff... different stuff, cool stuff, stuff I NEED, complete series not available on the US site. Sickening!
Anyway, I doubt I could purchase from their german site... plus shipping would be murder. *sigh*
Here's a few items I NEED, MUST HAVE for my next xmas set up.

Well, I already have this angel and this Santa... but I don't have the organ! Must Have!

A new advent calendar... looks like the North Pole's Toy Store. Yummy!
Must have!

MUST HAVE every single item on this set... specially that sweet xmas tree! It lights up!

Toy Factory (kinda) set... skis, winter apparel, stuff... MUST HAVE!

HUGE angel and Father Xmas! HUGE Must Have! Those wings could come in soooo handy during customization!

Different version of the Three Wise Kings... great new paintjob on the outfits. Must Have!

This one is just sweet... it's like the kiddie version of the Nativity... Gotta have it!

Now, THIS nativity scene rocks! Great looking figures, the manger is plastic (instead of flimsy cardboard)...is that a couldron over a fire over on the right side of the photo?
MUST HAVE!

Good thing is, I have a whole year to get my hands on these beauties... :) But there's Valentine's Day, Easter, Pride Month, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving.... better get busy!!!

X-mas Time!

So, for the holidays I purchased the "Nativity Manger + Three Wise Kings" (5719), "Christmas in the Forest" Advent Calendar (4155), "Santa Claus and Elf" (5846) and "Santa Claus and Snowman" (5845). I figured I'd set up a cute scene, along with my "Kool Toys" xmas train, xmas tree... I got home and opened the boxes... that's where the drama began! There was no Virgin Mary in the box!!! The box was sealed and all the little sealed baggies where inside, but I had no Mary! The Horror!I had all the other figures... so, what to do, what to do... taking advantage of the customization qualities of these figures I was able to have a complete Nativity Scene! I took Joseph's beard and tunic off and slapped on Mary's veil on him. The Hobo looking guy (I guess a shepherd) ended up being Joseph... and voila! I had my whole family together again! Now that the family crisis was over, I realized that I had 3 Santa Claus... well, any normal, well-adjusted person would use one of the and store the other two... not me! I tossed a few pirates and knights into the mix and we had an all out war! Two armies battling over which Santa gets to deliver the gifts this year! Here are some pics...
So, instead of having a peaceful holiday season, it was a boold bath... and so it began the Legendary War between the Pirates and the Knights (more pics on that later on).

EmGee & JayBee

This is my friend JayBee. We've known each other for almost 4 years and we have a great friendship. Not perfect, but great! He's a geeky kinda guy: he's an engineer, works with computers and radio systems. He has a quirky sense of humor and loves to quote his favorite movies all the time. We enjoy going to baseball games and going away on long road trips. When we're not traveling (or working!) we enjoy spending time together, cooking or watching funny movies Sometimes we butt heads and get on each others nerves, but at the end of the day, what's important is that we care for each other.
I'll be posting more photos of our adventures soon.

And so it begins...

This page is meant just as repository for my Playmobil craziness. I don't claim to be a "collector" or a Playmo freak, just a guy that, as a kid, used to love playing with these little klickies. I had completely forgotten how much fun I had with these toys as a kid. I came across the Playmobil Nativity Manger + Three Wise Kings set (5719) at a local store this past Christmas... Now my little collection is growing: Pirates, knights, a hodge podge of figures... let's see how far I take this... In the meantime, I'm having tons of fun! You know... sometimes life just sucks, and you have to take a little break and try to enjoy it. So there!
I'll be adding pics of custom dioramas and Playmo stuff. stay tuned!
